If you plan to go to the city of Antwerp (Belgium), do not miss the chance to visit the MAS museum (Museum aan de Stroom), a new architectural jewel from 60 meters that offers a 360 degree panorama of the city, the river and the port. The museum brings together an interesting collection of works by Flemish artists such as Brueghel the Elder, Van Eyck and Rubens, contrasted with contemporary art from, among others, Jan Fabre and Koen van den Broek.
The MAS recounts its stories through four themes which all revolve around people, so that they appeal to everyone.
-Display of Power. On Prestige and Symbols
-Metropolis. On here and elsewhere
-World Port. On Trade and Shipping
-Life and Death. On Men and Gods
MAS is the new home of the Ethnographic Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Museum of Foclore Antwerp. It also has the largest collection of port cranes worldwide. Its master builders are the famous architects Neutelings and Riedijk.
