The Museum of the Spanish National Library, (Madrid), hosts the exhibition Carolina Coronado: a romantic universe, which makes a journey through the life and work of one of the most important Spanish writers of Romanticism, on occasion of the centenary of his death.
Carolina Coronado Romero (1820-1911) and other writers of the mid-nineteenth century lead the way to creative writing subject to the romantic ideals of individual freedom. Through a series of portraits, letters, newspaper clippings and stories, the exhibition aims to unveil how Carolina Coronado became a respected and admired writer.
In addition, the National Library organizes a program of activities around the exhibition. In September, it will expose a silver crown that was given to Juan Eugenio Hartzenbusch, author of The Lovers of Teruel, director of the Library and Coronado’s master.
