The Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan (Italy) hosts until next October 23, an exhibition by Omar Galliani in which the artist makes a personal reinterpretation of three masterpieces from the Italian Renaissance: Portrait of a woman by Pedro de Pollaiolo, Lamentation over the dead Chist by Sandro Botticelli and Imago Pietatis by Giovanni Bellini.
Galliani, a leading figure in the Italian art scene for being one of the first artists o join the new figuration movement in the eighties, pays tribute to the Renaissance Masters and reinterpret the Pollaiolo masterpiece with a work of two-meters high and four metres wide made entirely in pencil. This work is based on spectacular contrasts where black and white colors offer a suggestive artistic dialogue.
