The Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y Leon MUSAC (León, Spain), presents Paradigm shift, the first major exhibition of the Serralves Foundation Collection-Museum of Contemporary Art (Porto, Portugal) which takes place in a Spanish museum.
The exhibition, which brings together a selection of 89 works by 62 artists from the main Portuguese collection of contemporary art, walks us through the 60's and the 70's- a period of change in the artistic expression, which marks the beginning of a new modern era. Gordon Matta-Clark, Robert Morries, Antoni Muntadas, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Dieter Roth, Angelo de Sousa, Francesc Torres and Lygia Pape are among the artists represented in the show.
With Paradigm Shift, the MUSAC opens its exhibition area to a key period (the 60's and the 70's) BASIC to understand contemporary artistic practices.
The exhibition also covers the convergence of a generation of Portuguese artists that emerged at that time and the works of many artists who developed new languages, forms and attitudes.
