The Museo del Prado, which turns 192 years on November 19, celebrates its anniversary with a varied program of activities. The celebration begins on Wednesday with the presentation of two monographs on the architecture of the museum, which was designed by architects Pedro Moleón and Rafael Moneo. This presentation will serve as a preamble to five free guided tours designed by Pedro Moleón to celebrate the museum's anniversary with visitors on November 19.
The free tours will take place at 10am, 12am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. A maximum of 30 people per group may register 15 minutes prior the start of the activity at the meeting point of the Education Department.
Access to the museum will be free all Saturday. In addition, the museum will host a concert of Russian choral music at the auditorium. Children under age 14 will get a family pass that will allow them to revisit the collection another day.
