Tribute to Lorenzo Lotto in Venice

Venice hosts the exhibition Homage to Lorenzo Lotto. Paintings of the Hermitage at the Gallerie dell'Accademia, an outstanding loan from the Museum of St. Petersburg composed by two paintings of the Italian artist: Doppio ritratto di coniugi y la Madonna delle Grazie.

The exhibition, which puts both paintings in close dialogue, walks us through works by Lotto from various European Museum and the Gallerie dell'Accademia the twenties and the forties of the 6th century.

The itinerary also includes contemporary paintings and sculptures influenced by the Venetian master's works and documents that are aimed at creating a proper artistic and historical context. Among those documents we can find, on display for the first time, Lotto's testament, a document that was left in Ospedaletto, the Venetian fraternity of which he was a member.
