Fundación Mapfre presents, for the first time in Madrid, the photographic exhibition Jitka Hanzlová which will be running through September 2, 2012.
Jitka Hanzlová (Nachod, Czech Republic, 1958) is, at present, one of the most recognized photographers in the international arena. Hanzlová seeks the essence of people, nature and objects, showing the relationships and tensions that exist between them. She creates direct images, which highligh the strenght of the objects and beings represented.
The exhibition is the largest international retrospective of the work of Hanzlová in which her most representative photographic series are present. Visitors will have the chance of discovered three unpublished sets of pictures: Horses, Flowers and There Is Something I Don’t Know. The Foundation has worked closely with the artist in the production of the latter part of the series There Is Something I Do not Know, whose photographs have been taken in Madrid.
