LAGARTIJA DE ALMA INFANTE

De mi niñez recuerdo apenas
una nerviosa lagartija.
De tanto sol sobre su lomo
parecía hecha de vidrio.
Entre las piedras y las matas
del jardín, ella aparecía.
Tal vez quería ver el mundo
o desearme buen día.
Este saurio hábil y paciente
que el sol transforma en diamante
me hace alabar la maravilla
oculta en la infancia distante.
Pues grande cosa es para un hombre
sentir que en el alba de la vida
toda la belleza del universo
estaba en una lagartija.
