After a long process of restoration, The Conversion of Saint Paul, painted by Juan Bautista Maíno (Pastrana, 1581 – Madrid, 1649), is being exhibited in the exhibition rooms of the MNAC's (Barcelona, Spain) permanent collection from until the end of September 2012.
The Loggias room at the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres presents an artwork of Salvador Dali entitled Depart. Homage to Fox Newsreel (1926). This is a temporary loan to the Gala-Salvador Dali from a private collection before traveling to the Pompidou Center this fall, on the occasion of a major retrospective of Salvador Dalí.
The Museo del Prado (Madrid, Spain) has embarked on the restoration of six panels from the so-called Triumph of the Eucharist series, commissioned from Rubens by Isabel Clara Eugenia as models for tapestries for the convent of the Descalzas Reales in Madrid. This was one of the most important commissions received by Rubens.
Following the success of the exhibitions that the organisations they represent have jointly organised in Spain in recent years, Isidre Fainé, president of ”la Caixa”, and Henri Loyrette, president and director of the Louvre Museum, have signed a new cooperation agreement to produce four more shows over the next four years.
Luis Claramunt. The Vertical Journey is the new exhibition organized by the Museum of Contemporary of Barcelona (MACBA). The show features a broad selection of works produced by the artist in the period from the early seventies to the late nineties.
