Art exhibitions

The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design of Norway holds the exhibition Giacometti, Hodler, Klee. Swiss Modern Masters, which is centred on modern masters from Switzerland, and covers the period 1870-1970.

Max Liebermann (1847-1935) is credited with introducing Modernism to German painting. For the first time, an exhibition at the Hamburger Kunsthalle presents a comprehensive retrospective revealing how this process took place and the impressive oeuvre Liebermann was executing at the time.

This autumn's major exhibition at the Nationalmuseum (Stockholm, Sweden) is entitled The Peredvizhniki-Pioneers of Russian Painting. Sweden's first ever exhibition dedicated to this group of artists features over 100 pieces on loan from the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the State Russian Museum in St Petersburg.

The Jacquemart-André Museum (Paris, France) holds an exhibition dedicated to Fra Angelico, a major figure of the Quattrocento. The Jacquemart-André Museum is the first French museum to pay tribute to Fra Angelico and reconsider this exceptional artist's career.

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA) presents, in the framework of the Volume's exhibition, the installation Between the Frames. The Forum by artist Antoni Muntadas.
