Art exhibitions

At the close of the year marking the twentieth anniversary of the MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst, (Frankfurt, Germany) the museum devotes itself entirely to photography and video art. A solo exhibition on Douglas Gordon will await the visitor in the MMK main building.

In keeping with the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium's desire to spotlight lesser-known artists, they are pleased to present an exhibition devoted to Ferdinand Schirren (1872–1944). Schirren, whose work is well represented in the Royal Museums' holdings, is considered to be the first Belgian Fauve.

The Art Institute of Chicago (USA) hosts the exhibition Contemporary Drawings from the Irving Stenn Jr. Collection.  In just a little over a decade, Chicagoan and Art Institute of Chicago trustee Irving Stenn Jr. has amassed a compelling collection of 170 drawings by at least 90 artists.

Würth Museum La Rioja (Spain) opens tomorrow an exhibition dedicated to the works of artist David Rodríguez Caballero. The works of Rodríguez Caballero, considered by critics as minimal art, art, are present at the Würth Museum in Spain, the Oteiza Foundation, the National Library in Madrid, the ISE Cultural Foundation (New York-Tokyo) and the Palace of the Popes in Viterbo (Italy).
