From Altamira on, the color and shape have been the mainstay of the plastic composition, although, centuries-have been used by various companions to arrive at their destination. Various perspectives, complicated foreshortening, fillings, glazes and fine matéricos were slowly coating of glitter to the visual arts, to almost forget the brutal impact means the direct contact with the color and shape. However, in this coming and going of things, time and technology, art those magical elves have reappeared, and it is in those times when they and only they are the protagonists of the building, scaring off any remote possibility the ancestral chain of plastic links again lost. Gastón Izaguirre's work is powerful and vital, subtle yet explicit, explodes in a visual overflow is none other than the realm of these distant masters art, which are fine insight to delineate the boundaries of figurative intention. Dislocated beings wind through the plane, authorities outlined heads unrealistic fantasy of looks, feelings and attitudes, but above all these heads, bodies and figures, is in the works of Izaguirre an unavoidable presence: the eye. It's looking at himself, is looking to the other is feeling and be seen to observe, dance voayerista that inhabits the collective imagination since time immemorial, and that inevitably suggests the winding roads biunique, internal communication and dialogue with another. The diverse and distant sources that nourish these forms can be found in places as remote and diverse as the graphics pre-Columbian, the Cubist deconstructions or direct satirical humor and pop art, more personal dimension that feeds itself makes them a game syncretic, without thereby losing strength, originality or thought. Izaguirre's work seems to affirm the certainty of the old saying about the uncertainties, frustrations and desires life, there is another way that "seeing is believing." Is that why Gastón Izaguirre is not afraid to look at others and even less to look at himself. A May 2004 Emma Sanguinetti naïve perverse (Exhibition Meridian 2005) Gastón Izaguirre roots are nourished by Frida Kahlo and Mexican art in general, but also the religious stamps and kitsch art. The result is a new evolution in his work that impacts, not only by their shape and color, but on their commitment: the artist naked and showing what it is. It is no longer an observer but the observed. Judged and condemned, but also sports and displayed. His paintings are stories that tell us about repression, anxiety, emotional bondage accepted and desired, but also of freedom, ambiguity and, above all, absolutely all things, sex. It is a basic and primitive sexuality, but also liberating and naive. It is a perverse naïve. Alejandra Veira, June 2005

Izaguirre is like that little boy of about six years you are looking just at the time when you're looking at his mom.

He has another version of events.

He likes walking in these places that you never leave.

Mirrors ago about what really worth talking about in this life and the signature: "Peace, our bugs are already known."

Love, sadness, loneliness, violence, respect and pure feeling.

Dadaist revolt in Montevideo.
