Cesar David Rodriguez Orozco – CEDRO

Artista y gestor cultural de Barranquilla, Colombia. Formado académicamente hasta VIII semestre de Artes Plásticas en la facultad de Bellas Artes de La Universidad del Atlántico. Cursando actualmente III semestre en licenciatura de Artes Plásticas en la Universidad Santo Tomas – Certificado por el SENA (Proveedor de aprendizaje técnico a nivel nacional en Colombia) en NIVEL AVANZADO de Adornar producto según técnicas pictóricas y tipo de material - Certificado por el SENA en Pintar obras de arte de acuerdo con técnicas de pintura y géneros pictóricos - Diplomado en Desarrollo y Gestión de Proyectos Culturales en la Universidad EAN y MINCULTURA (Colombia) - Diplomado en Gestión Cultural y Economía Naranja: Herramientas para la Gestión Local de la Cultura, ESAP (Escuela Superior de Administración Pública de Colombia).

Con un estilo artístico enfocado más hacia la forma figurativa y anatómica, la cual plasma a través del dibujo con carboncillo, grafito, lápices de colores, pintura al pastel seco y acrílicos. Sus obras proponen historias con retratos biográficos, planteando personajes que tienen vida propia en obras importantes de la literatura, iconos mitológicos y de leyendas, con una resignificación conceptual a través de la estética plástica y visual en un contexto contemporáneo.

Ha participado en 82 exposiciones a nivel nacional e internacional, destacándose en una gran parte como artista invitado en representación del arte colombiano y siendo sus obras la imagen corporativa de diferentes eventos culturales. Artista de la plástica invitado en representación de Colombia y Latinoamérica a la celebración de los 500 años de la Habana(2019). Invitado al “Festival Petronio Álvarez 2021”, Cali Valle, para realizar la obra en homenaje póstumo a la memoria de la maestra Oliva Arboleda – Recientemente escogido por la Dirección de Cultura de la Universidad de Panamá, para ser el curador de los artistas que harán parte del Pabellón Colombia en la II y III Bienal Internacional Virtual de Artes Visuales, ciudad de Panamá 2023 y 2025.

Desde 2014 se desempeña como director de Proyectos, Logística y Promoción del Encuentro de Comedias del Carnaval de Barranquilla para la Fundación CARNAVLEARTE; desde 2015 se ha desempeñado como tallerista y maestro de arte; incursionando además, en la gestión cultural, con la cual ha logrado el reconocimiento a nivel local y nacional, ganando 23 concertaciones con el Ministerio de Cultura y 20 portafolios de estímulos con el distrito de Barranquilla, los cuales lo han proyectado a nivel internacional, logrando a través de ARTEPAZ Fundación internacional (Entidad a la cual lidera), firmando convenios internacionales, destacándose como el más relevante y actualmente vigente, el convenido desde 2017 con la Dirección Provincial de Cultura La Habana, con quienes a ha logrado realizar 9 eventos de intercambios culturales y artísticos en Cuba y Panamá. Ha logrado realizar ocho (8) ediciones del “SALÓN DE ARTE DE CARNAVAL”, único en su modalidad en Colombia y Latinoamérica, por manejar la temática patrimonial a través de la plástica. Actualmente se desempeña como director y curador de CEDRO Art Gallery y como tallerista de artes plásticas en el Centro Cultural de COMFAMILIAR Atlantico.

Cesar David Rodriguez Orozco – CEDRO

Artist and cultural manager from Barranquilla, Colombia. Academically trained up to the eighth semester of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Universidad del Atlántico. Currently studying the third semester of a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at the Universidad Santo Tomas. Certified by SENA (National Technical Training Provider in Colombia) in the ADVANCED LEVEL of Product Adornment according to Painting Techniques and Material Types. Certified by SENA in Painting Works of Art according to Painting Techniques and Painting Genres. Diploma in Cultural Project Development and Management from the Universidad EAN and the Ministry of Culture (MINCULTURA) (Colombia). Diploma in Cultural Management and the Orange Economy: Tools for Local Cultural Management, ESAP (Higher School of Public Administration of Colombia).

With an artistic style focused more on figurative and anatomical forms, which he captures through drawing with charcoal, graphite, colored pencils, dry pastels, and acrylics. His works offer stories with biographical portraits, presenting characters who come to life in important works of literature, mythological icons, and legends, with a conceptual reinterpretation through visual aesthetics in a contemporary context.

He has participated in 82 national and international exhibitions, largely as a guest artist representing Colombian art, and his works have served as the corporate image for various cultural events. He was also a guest artist representing Colombia and Latin America at the 2019 celebration of Havana's 500th anniversary. Invited to the "Petronio Álvarez Festival 2021," Cali Valle, to create a posthumous tribute to the memory of teacher Oliva Arboleda. Recently selected by the Department of Culture of the University of Panama to curate the artists who will be part of the Colombian Pavilion at the 2nd and 3rd International Virtual Biennial of Visual Arts, Panama City, 2023 and 2025.

Since 2014, he has served as Director of Projects, Logistics, and Promotion of the Barranquilla Carnival Comedy Gathering for the CARNAVLEARTE Foundation; since 2015, he has worked as a workshop facilitator and art teacher; also venturing into cultural management, with which he has achieved recognition at the local and national level, winning 23 agreements with the Ministry of Culture and 20 stimulus portfolios with the district of Barranquilla, which have projected him internationally, achieving through ARTEPAZ International Foundation (Entity which he leads), signing international agreements, standing out as the most relevant and currently in force, the one agreed since 2017 with the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Havana, with whom he has managed to carry out 9 cultural and artistic exchange events in Cuba and Panama. He has managed to carry out eight (8) editions of the "CARNIVAL ART HALL", unique in its modality in Colombia and Latin America, for handling the heritage theme through plastic arts. He currently works as director and curator of CEDRO Art Gallery and as a plastic arts workshop leader at the COMFAMILIAR Atlantico Cultural Center.
